What format should I save my digital images?
You should submit JPEG images saved with max quality compression on the long dimension of 1,000 pixels at 72 or 300 dpi with either Adobe1998, sRGB or untagged color space.
Is there a limit to the number of photos that I can enter?
You may enter one image per category.
Can I submit prints or email my photographs?
I shot the image on film, can I submit the photograph?
No, this contest is completely managed online at the contest website exclusively.
Yes, you can submit scans of negative or slides as a jpeg. Simply save your JPEG images with max quality compression on the long dimension of 1,000 pixels at 72 or 300 dpi with either Adobe1998, sRGB or untagged color space
Can I enter more than one image per category?
No, you may enter several categories, but each photographer may enter a single image per category.
Can I change my image once it's uploaded to the contest?
No, once you submit an image that's the one you are committed too.
Can the images of animals be taken in zoos or game farms?
Only in the specific category of "Animals In Zoos and Captivity" may you enter an image that was taken in a Zoo or captivity. All other categories the image of animals must be free and photographed in the wild.
I live in New Jersey, Arizona or Vermont. Can I enter?
We cannot accept entries from these states at this time. The contest is void in Arizona, New Jersey, and Vermont and where prohibited.
Can I enter if I live outside of the U.S.?
Except where prohibited by law, international entries can be submitted.
What are my chances of winning?
That depends upon the number of submissions.
Will my images be sold?
No. You retain copyright to your photograph and the Sponsors may not sell your photo entry for a fee. All entries may be posted online so that viewers may view all competing entries. And winning entries may be used in connection with the Contest and promotion of the Contest for a period of 24 months from the date winners are notified.
